Iran arrests six over alleged links to “hostile networks”

Authorities in northeastern Iran have detained six individuals in North Khorasan province over alleged ties to what the government describes as “hostile networks,” the provincial prosecutor confirmed.

The prosecutor stated that the detainees had communicated via phone and text with opposition media outlets and engaged in activities deemed harmful to national security and Iran’s interests, Iran International reports.

“Some of them provided information, including videos and images from various locations, to these outlets,” the prosecutor said, adding that the material was intended to assist Iran’s adversaries in identifying potential targets.
