Iran arrests suspected Mossad operatives, claims coup plot disrupted

Iranian authorities have detained 21 people on suspicion of having links to Israel's intelligence agency, Mossad, Mehr reports.

Iranian media reported that the suspects are accused of gathering intelligence on strategic military installations and the country's air defence systems.

In a separate development, authorities announced the arrest of four members of an armed group and five other individuals allegedly involved in a suspected coup plot.

Security forces also seized a large cache of weapons during the operations.

The arrests come amid heightened security measures in Iran, with authorities continuing investigations into alleged espionage and activities deemed to threaten national security.
