Iran, Azerbaijan to develop joint logistics hub, industrial village
Iran and Azerbaijan are planning to establish a joint logistics hub and industrial village aimed at boosting trade and reducing transportation costs, Iranian officials have announced.
Hossein Pirmoazen, Vice President of Iran’s House of Representatives of the Private Sector, made the announcement during a meeting with Iranian Ambassador to Azerbaijan Mojtaba Demirchilou, according to Caliber.Az reports, citing Iran’s official news agency.
Pirmoazen highlighted the strategic importance of launching the Ardabil-Baku railway, which is expected to streamline agricultural exports to Russia and significantly lower shipping costs.
Officials also noted that the Iran-Azerbaijan Joint Economic Commission is scheduled to hold a meeting in Tehran next week to further discuss the initiative.
