Iran carries out death sentence of alleged Mossad agent
Bahman Choubi Asl, described by Iranian authorities as one of Israel’s most significant “spies” in the country, has been executed following the completion of legal procedures and the confirmation of his death sentence by Iran’s Supreme Court, Tasnim News Agency reports.
Choubi Asl, a database expert, was reportedly involved in critical national telecommunications projects, where he held managerial roles and had extensive access to the country’s vital databases.
According to Iranian sources, after earning a degree in database management, Choubi Asl met with Mossad agents during a specialised training course in a Persian Gulf country. Authorities said Mossad sought to exploit his expertise to gain access to government databases, create vulnerabilities in data processing centres, and monitor the import routes of electronic equipment.
