IRGC says it shot down F-35, drones and Black Hawk helicopters

Iran’s armed forces have deployed a new air defence system to intercept and destroy what they described as enemy aerial targets, according to Ebrahim Zolfaghari, a representative of the central headquarters of the Iranian Armed Forces, Khatam al-Anbiya.

In a statement cited by state broadcasting, Zolfaghari said that on Friday, April 3, air defence units of the Aerospace Forces of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) targeted and destroyed multiple assets, including “an ultra-modern American fifth-generation F-35 fighter jet, three MQ-9 and Hermes drones, and two cruise missiles.”

He added that ground-based air defence units of the IRGC separately intercepted additional aircraft. “Ground-based defence intercepted an A-10 fighter aircraft and two Black Hawk helicopters,” the statement said.
