Iran claims second Israeli F-35 shot down, pilot missing
Iran’s military says it has brought down another Israeli stealth fighter, intensifying the aerial drama unfolding over the region.
According to Iranian state broadcaster IRIB, quoting the Public Relations Department of the Iranian Army, the country’s air defence units successfully shot down a second Israeli Air Force F-35 jet in western Iran.
The pilot reportedly ejected before impact, but their current whereabouts remain unknown.
“The air defence forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran shot down another Israeli F-35 in the western sky of the country,” the statement declared, adding to mounting claims of resistance against Israel’s ongoing military operation.
Just a day earlier, Iran’s semi-official Tasnim news agency reported that two Israeli F-35s and additional aircraft had been downed. Tasnim even claimed that Iranian forces captured a female pilot during the incidents.
The Israeli military, however, has firmly denied all such reports, dismissing them as misinformation. The Israel Defence Forces (IDF) stated that no aircraft had been lost and no personnel captured.
