Iran cleric says ceasefire approved but fighting will continue
10 April 2026 15:02
A conservative Iranian cleric Imam Ahmad Alamolhoda has said the country’s leadership approved a ceasefire agreement but warned that it would not be upheld and hostilities would continue.
Speaking during Friday prayers in Mashhad, he said the Iranian leader (Mojtaba Khamenei) authorised the Supreme National Security Council to accept a ceasefire agreement, Caliber.Az reports, citing Iranian media.
He also told the fighters that the truce was false and that the enemy would not adhere to it.
“The Supreme National Security Council also announced it would accept a ceasefire to counter the US plot, but it ultimately became clear that the ceasefire itself was false and the enemy does not abide by one,” he noted.
