Iran demands full release of frozen overseas assets held by US

A senior Iranian security official has said that Tehran is seeking the complete release of its frozen financial assets held abroad, which it says belong to the Iranian state and people.

Deputy Secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council, Ali Bagheri Kani noted that the funds in question have been frozen by the United States, which Iran regards as its lawful property, Caliber.Az reports per Iranian media. 

“We are seeking the release of all of Iran’s frozen assets blocked by the US, and this is the legitimate right of the Iranian people,” Bagheri Kani said.

He added that Tehran insists the assets should be returned “in full and without any conditions.”
