Iran details ceasefire monitoring mechanism in US deal
The memorandum of understanding between Iran and the United States includes provisions for activating a specific mechanism in the event of violations of the ceasefire on any front, including Lebanon, Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Majid Takht-Ravanchi has stated.
“One of the provisions of the agreement is very clear and implies the end of military operations on all fronts, including Lebanon,” he said, SNN reports.
“If there is a violation of the ceasefire, decisions [on subsequent actions] will be made based on the mechanism provided for in the memorandum.”
The comments come amid ongoing diplomatic efforts linked to the implementation of the agreement, which is intended to establish a framework for de-escalation and conflict management across multiple theatres.
