Iran executes suspected Israeli spy amid rising tensions

Iran has executed a man convicted of spying for Israel’s intelligence agency, Mossad.

The execution was carried out by hanging, following a judicial ruling that found the individual guilty of espionage and endangering national security, Caliber.Az reports via Iranian media.

The man had been relaying classified information about Iran — including details on specific individuals — to Israeli intelligence services. The accused was in regular contact with his handler, submitting weekly intelligence reports from one of the Persian Gulf countries. 

The identity of the executed man has not been made public, and Iranian authorities have not released further details about the trial or the timeline of his arrest.
