Iran executes two men convicted of militant activity

Iran’s judiciary has announced the execution of two men on charges related to involvement in militant groups and armed actions against the state, according to a report by the judiciary-affiliated Mizan News agency.

The executions were carried out on Thursday, May 21. The report identified the individuals as Ramin Zaleh and Karim Maroufpour.

According to Mizan News, the sentences against both men had previously been upheld by Iran’s Supreme Court, clearing the way for their implementation.
