Iran expresses gratitude to Pakistan
Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi held a telephone conversation with his Pakistani counterpart, Mohammad Ishaq Dar, discussing bilateral relations and key international developments.
According to the Iranian Foreign Ministry, Araghchi expressed appreciation for Pakistan’s stance at the United Nations Security Council, where Islamabad opposed attempts by three European countries to misuse the JCPOA dispute resolution mechanism to reinstate expired Security Council resolutions.
He emphasised that Security Council Resolution 2231 should be considered terminated as scheduled on October 17, 2025, in line with the JCPOA’s provisions.
Both ministers highlighted the situation in Palestine as a critical concern for the Muslim world, calling for urgent and effective action by Islamic countries to end the ongoing violence against Palestinians and hold those responsible accountable.
The leaders also underlined the importance of strengthening cooperation across all areas of mutual interest.
They agreed on the need to enhance coordination both bilaterally and within international organisations to support regional and global peace and stability.
