Iran extends airspace closure until April 12
05 April 2026 10:36
Iran’s airspace will remain closed for at least another week, until April 12, TASS reports via a source in Middle Eastern air traffic circles.
“The skies over Iran will be closed to flights until approximately 08:30 UTC (12:30 Baku time) on Sunday, April 12,” the source said, citing a decision by the country’s aviation authorities.
Exceptions include government, military, and medical flights, as well as search-and-rescue operations conducted with special clearance from civil aviation authorities.
Iranian airspace was first closed on the morning of February 28, following the start of US and Israeli military operations, which targeted major Iranian cities, including Tehran.
