Iran files UN complaint accusing UAE of role in US-Israeli attacks
Iran has formally lodged a complaint with the United Nations, accusing the United Arab Emirates of facilitating US and Israeli attacks by allowing the use of its territory and airspace.
Iran’s Ambassador to the UN, Amir Saeid Iravani, submitted an official protest on Friday, March 27, to the UN Secretary-General and the President of the Security Council, according to Shafaq News.
In his letter, Iravani warned that Tehran “reserves the right to take necessary and appropriate measures,” including actions taken in self-defence.

The complaint comes in the wake of a resolution adopted by the UN Human Rights Council, put forward by Gulf Cooperation Council member states and Jordan. The resolution condemns Iran’s actions in the Strait of Hormuz and calls for an end to what it describes as “unjustified attacks.” Iranian authorities, however, insist that their missile strikes are directed solely at targets associated with the United States.
Responding to the accusations, UAE presidential diplomatic adviser Anwar Gargash stated in a post on X that any attacks targeting civilians or infrastructure, as well as threats to energy security and maritime navigation, “will not go unpunished,” while reaffirming the UAE’s right to self-defence.
Since the outbreak of the conflict, the UAE has consistently denied allowing its airspace, territory, or waters to be used for hostile military operations against Iran and has rejected claims that it provides logistical support for such actions.
