Iran hopes mediator efforts will lead to end of conflict with US
Iranian authorities hope that the efforts of friendly countries acting as mediators between Tehran and Washington will lead to a resolution of the conflict with the United States, Iran’s ambassador to Pakistan, Amiri Moghadam, said.
“Of course, it is clear that friendly countries are constantly consulting with both sides to end this usurping aggression. However, these efforts cannot be called direct negotiations between Iran and the United States. Rather, they are an attempt to create a basis for dialogue between Tehran and Washington. We hope these efforts will bring an end to this imposed war,” he told IRNA.
In recent days, the U.S. has reported contact with Iran through intermediaries, including Pakistan. However, Tehran denies claims by U.S. officials that productive negotiations are taking place.
