Iran, Iraq sign security cooperation MoU To strengthen border stability
The Secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council, Ali Ardashir Amoli Larijani, has arrived in Baghdad on his first foreign visit, where he conducted a series of high-level meetings with senior Iraqi officials.
A key highlight of the visit was the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on security cooperation between the two neighbouring countries, Caliber.Az reports.

The agreement, signed under the auspices of Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia, seeks to enhance coordination on security matters along the shared border, thereby reinforcing the foundations of stability in the region.
The joint MoU underscores the commitment of both Iraq and Iran to fostering a secure and stable environment, which is essential for regional peace and prosperity.
The Iraqi government reaffirmed its policy of openness towards neighbouring and friendly states, emphasising the importance of sustained collaboration to safeguard Iraq’s sovereignty, uphold its supreme interests, and ensure enduring security.
