Iran launches drones from several ships, submarine
The Navy of the Islamic Republic of Iran has demonstrated ships equipped with drones.
The presentation was attended by the commander of the Iranian Navy, Rear Admiral Shahram Irani, and the commander of the country's Armed Forces, Major General Abdolrahim Mousavi, global open intelligence news source Janes reports.
The drones were launched from the Hengam-class landing ship Lavan, the Delvar support ship and the Kilo-class Tarik submarine.
Most of the launches took place with the help of rail catapults and rocket boosters. Some of the drones were disposable kamikaze drones of the Arash type, Pelican, Homa, Chamrosh, Jubin, Ababil-4 and Bavar-5, capable of crossing the Indian Ocean, were also presented.
Also, the commander of the Ground Forces, Brigadier General Kiomars Heidari, announced plans to create five new military units armed with unmanned aerial vehicles.
