Iran lawmaker proposes citizenship revocation for national security threats
22 April 2026 11:44
Iran’s parliamentarian member, Hassanali Akhlaghi Amiri, has proposed introducing a measure to revoke citizenship from individuals who support military actions against the Islamic Republic.
He said cooperation with Israel and hostile countries against the national security and interests of the country must entail the confiscation of property and the most severe consequences, Caliber.Az reports, citing Iran International.
“Penalties under a new law begin with asset seizure and could extend to revoking citizenship,” Amiri noted.
