Iran moves forward with Azerbaijan on security, law enforcement deal
The Iranian Cabinet of Ministers has approved the preliminary signing of a bilateral Agreement on Cooperation in Security and Law Enforcement with the Republic of Azerbaijan.
The decision was made during a cabinet meeting, Caliber.Az reports via local media.
The agreement aims to strengthen collaboration between the two neighbouring countries in areas such as border security, combating organised crime, and improving law enforcement coordination. In a related development, the Iranian government also approved an extension of the visa-free travel regime with Kazakhstan. The permitted length of stay without a visa has been increased from 14 days to 30 days, marking a step toward deeper regional connectivity and tourism development.
