People should prepare for a war that could last from 3 to 4 years.
The latest escalation between the US and Iran began when Iranian missiles struck two United Arab Emirates tankers transiting the Strait of Hormuz overnight on July 13, killing one sailor.
The United States responded with strikes on military targets in Iran, prompting Tehran to launch missiles and drones at several Arab states.
The latest strikes represent a significant escalation beyond the limited exchanges that characterised previous flare-ups.
