Iran navy says more forces ready to join war
Some units of Iran’s armed forces have yet to enter the ongoing conflict but remain on standby, a senior naval official said on April 27.
Faramarz Bemani, deputy commander of the Islamic Republic of Iran Navy, said the forces are fully prepared and “awaiting orders” to take action if required, according to Iran International.
Earlier, Axios reported that Tehran had presented Washington with a new proposal aimed at reopening the strategically vital Strait of Hormuz and ending hostilities, with nuclear negotiations to be addressed at a later stage.
Efforts to ease the crisis have so far shown little progress. A recent visit by Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi to Pakistan concluded without a breakthrough, further deepening the impasse between Iran and the United States.
