Iran offers to host Russia-Ukraine talks

Foreign Minister, Hossein Amir Abdollahian, has offered to use Iran as a platform for negotiations between Russia and Ukraine.

“Tehran stands for a political solution to the conflict in Ukraine and negotiations,” TASS quotes Abdollahian as saying.

“I told Russian Foreign Minister, Sergei Lavrov, last week that Iran is ready to become a platform for the two sides,” the minister said at the World Economic Forum in Davos.

He added that the Ukrainian crisis was caused by the actions of the US and NATO, which the Kremlin provoked in an attempt to expand its influence.
