Iran parliament speaker says US preparing "massive attack" on Iran

Speaker of Iran's Parliament, Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, criticised what he described as inconsistent negotiation tactics in a post on X, accusing unnamed counterparts of relying on pressure and unfulfilled commitments.

"Massive attack coming… wait, never mind, they want to negotiate. That’s theater diplomacy on loop," Ghalibaf wrote.

He added that "using bullying + broken promises + fake news as leverage is a failed strategy" and called for commitments to be honoured.

Ghalibaf said Iran was not intimidated by US threats and urged Washington to acknowledge the facts and fulfil commitments.

"We don’t need more theater," he wrote.
