Iran: Police officer stabbed to death in arrest clash

A police officer in Iran’s northern Talesh county has died after being wounded during a clash while attempting to arrest a suspected smuggler, state media reported on June 16.

The officer, identified as Erfan Shakouri, was injured during the operation and later succumbed to his wounds, according to the reports, Caliber.Az reports via Iranian media.

The suspect had been accused of goods smuggling.
