Iran preparing for visit by Russian FM Lavrov

Preparations are underway for Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov to visit Iran, the Iranian Foreign Ministry has confirmed.

Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baghaei said on Monday (July 13) that the proposed visit is currently in the planning stages, according to Russia's state news agency.

"The visit of Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov to Iran is currently at the planning stage. Further information will be provided to the public at the appropriate time," Baghaei said when asked about the possibility of Lavrov travelling to Tehran.
