Iran raises stakes in new proposal to Washington: What’s on the table?

Iran’s recent proposal to the United States includes demands for the lifting of sanctions, the release of frozen Iranian assets, and an end to the US naval blockade, Deputy Foreign Minister Kazem Gharibabadi said on May 19.

The proposal also calls for de-escalation across all fronts, including Lebanon, Kazem Gharibabadi told members of parliament’s national security and foreign policy committee, Caliber.Az reports, citing Iran International.

He said Iran’s outlined framework further includes compensation from the United States for war-related damages, the withdrawal of US forces from areas surrounding Iran, and an end to unilateral sanctions as well as UN Security Council resolutions.

Gharibabadi also stressed that Iran’s negotiating team has maintained its position on Tehran’s right to continue uranium enrichment.
