Iran ready for US talks, but only after securing battlefield gains, says FM
Iran can end its military confrontation with the United States and move towards a negotiated settlement once it secures an advantage on the battlefield, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi stated.
“Ending the war is possible either through an absolute military victory or through negotiations. The right time for negotiations is precisely the moment when you have achieved reliable field and strategic gains on the military front,” Araghchi said in an interview with IRNA.
The Iranian foreign minister further underlined that such a decision required a thorough assessment of circumstances and potential consequences.
Araghchi said determining the right moment to halt hostilities and begin negotiations was the most important factor.
“You cannot risk people’s lives and the fate of the country. Decisions must be made based on accurate and complete calculations,” he added.
