Iran ready to deploy new air defence systems, says commander
Ali Abdollahi, commander of Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters, said Iran plans to deploy new advanced defence systems in the event of what he described as renewed aggression by the United States and Israel against the country.
The senior Iranian military official said the country’s air defence capabilities had performed more effectively during the recent conflict than in previous confrontations, Mehr New Agency reports.
“Iran's air defense system performed much better in the recent imposed war than in the past,” Abdollahi said.
He rejected claims by Iran’s adversaries that the country’s naval, air, and missile capabilities had been destroyed, insisting that Iran’s armed forces had consistently demonstrated the preservation of their operational strength on the battlefield.
“The enemy has repeatedly claimed that it has destroyed the country’s military division in the naval, air, and missile fields; but the powerful Armed Forces of the country have always shown on the battlefield that all Iran’s capabilities have remained,” he stated.
Abdollahi also stressed that Iran would continue to respond forcefully to any future threats.
“We will fight the enemies with utmost power to the end and impose defeat on them,” the commander underlined.
