Iran ready to launch True Promise strike against Israel, says Army commander
On May 26, Major General Abdolrahim Mousavi, Commander-in-Chief of Iran’s Army, issued a stern warning, declaring that the Islamic Republic is fully prepared to launch a powerful retaliatory strike against Israel should it commit any further “foolish” actions.
Speaking during a press briefing on the sidelines of a military ceremony, Mousavi responded directly to recent Israeli rhetoric, emphasising Iran’s military readiness and resolve, Caliber.Az reports, citing Iranian media.
“The Zionist regime is too weak to undermine the grandeur of Iran,” Mousavi stated. “At the same time, the Islamic Republic’s capabilities pose serious and credible challenges to Israel and its regional backers.”
He added, “Even Israeli officials acknowledge that they cannot withstand such challenges. However, given that their current leaders are reckless and bloodthirsty, any miscalculation remains a possibility.”
Mousavi specifically referenced “Operation True Promise,” a series of retaliatory strikes carried out by Iran last year in response to Israeli aggression. “If Israel is eager to receive another ‘True Promise,’ we are fully prepared to deliver an appropriate and decisive blow,” he warned.
Operation True Promise I and II involved the use of hundreds of ballistic missiles and drones targeting sensitive Israeli military and intelligence sites with surgical precision. Iranian officials have noted that these operations only showcased a fraction of their overall military firepower.
The warning underscores Tehran’s continued posture of deterrence amid heightened tensions in the region, signaling that Iran remains ready to escalate its military response if provoked.
