Iran rejects allegations of involvement in attacks in UK

The Iranian Embassy in London has denied any allegations linking Iran to violent acts or incidents in the United Kingdom, saying the claims are unfounded and politically motivated.

The embassy said, in a statement on X, the accusations “lack evidence and serve narrow political objectives, misleading public opinion,” Caliber.Az reports.

“As a nation that has been a primary victim of terrorism for decades, enduring the loss of hundred thousands innocent citizens, high-ranking officials and scientists, Iran remains at the forefront of the global struggle against terrorism and violent extremism," the statement noted.

It added that in this regard, it is regrettable that some Western countries, while claiming to fight terrorism, have in practice become safe havens for terrorists whose hands are stained with Iranian blood and whose supporters continue to spread extremist and violent ideologies in Europe. 

According to the embassy, it had previously raised concerns with relevant authorities regarding “suspicious activities” and the potential use of “false flag operations” on British territory.

The statement came after a series of attacks and arson incidents targeting Jewish sites in London and other UK cities.

Responsibility for some of the attacks has been claimed by the group “Harakat Ashab al-Yamin al-Islamiya,” which is reportedly linked to Iran.
