Iran reports foreign container ship stranded in Strait of Hormuz

A foreign container ship ran aground in the Strait of Hormuz after allegedly navigating along a route that had not been approved by Iran, preventing the vessel from continuing its voyage, Iran's state broadcaster announced.

The broadcaster reported that the ship became stranded after deviating from the route authorized by Iranian authorities.

It also reiterated that vessels transiting the Strait of Hormuz are permitted to use only designated shipping lanes located south of Iran's Larak Island and are required to coordinate their movements with the Iranian Armed Forces.
