Iran reports passage of 24 vessels via Strait of Hormuz in single day
Iranian state broadcaster has reported that 24 vessels passed through the Strait of Hormuz over the past 24 hours under coordination by the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) Navy and Iran’s Foreign Ministry, Iran International reports.
A state TV reporter in the Strait of Hormuz, citing the IRGC Navy public relations service, said that a higher number of ships were granted permission to transit the waterway, but only a limited number are allowed to pass daily to prevent maritime congestion and ensure navigational safety.
“Ship traffic through the Strait of Hormuz has accelerated compared with previous weeks and months, but it has not yet returned to pre-war conditions,” the reporter noted.
The journalist also said ships belonging to hostile countries and military vessels were not allowed to pass through the Strait of Hormuz.
