Iran’s Assembly of Experts to hold meeting within 24 hours to select new leader

The Assembly of Experts of Iran will hold a session within 24 hours to discuss the appointment of a new Supreme Leader of the country, Fars News Agency reports, citing member Ayatollah Hossein Mozaffari.

“Members of the Assembly of Experts are eagerly waiting for the conditions to be met to hold a meeting, discuss, and elect the new Supreme Leader… We hope this will happen within the next 24 hours,” Mozaffari said.

According to him, the Assembly of Experts has not yet held any meetings on this matter. In this regard, the ayatollah urged the citizens of the Islamic Republic of Iran not to spread deliberately false information about the election of a new Supreme Leader.
