Iran's ex-President Ahmadinejad killed in Israeli attack - report

Former Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has been killed in Israeli airstrikes, per local outlet ILNA.

"Ahmadinejad, along with his security guards, was killed following the strikes on his residence in the Narmak neighbourhood in Tehran," the report reads.

Mahmoud Ahmadinejad served as the sixth president of Iran from 2005 to 2013, holding office for two consecutive terms.

On August 4, 2013, Ahmadinejad was appointed as a member of the Expediency Discernment Council by the Supreme Leader of Iran.
