Iran’s internet blackout reaches 53 days as restrictions persist
21 April 2026 12:35
Iran’s internet blackout has entered its 53rd day, with authorities reportedly allowing only limited, selective access for privileged users and companies while much of the population remains disconnected from global networks.
As Caliber.Az reports, citing the internet monitoring group NetBlocks, the disruption has now lasted 53 days, following 1,248 hours of isolation from global connectivity.
“The Iran internet blackout is now in its 53rd day after 1248 hours of disconnection from global networks. As authorities work to develop tiered access for select users and businesses, the human impacts and economic harms of this digital censorship measure continue to spiral,” NetBlocks stated.
