Iran’s internet shutdown enters 56th day amid nationwide disruption
Internet access in Iran has been down for 56 consecutive days, with no service available in the country, on April 24, marking the continued nationwide disruption.
International connectivity has also been severed for more than 1,320 hours, Caliber.Az reports, citing the internet monitoring group NetBlocks.
“This measure, which has become the longest internet shutdown in the country’s history where internet access exists, continues amid worsening conditions due to armed hostilities and reports of executions,” the group said.
Iran imposed a near-total internet shutdown across the country within hours of the first bombs falling in downtown Tehran on February 28.
However, in recent developments, authorities have begun expanding the list of individuals and entities deemed eligible for limited internet access.
