Iran’s IRGC implement "special plan" to boost combat capabilities

Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) Ground Forces are implementing a “special plan” to strengthen their combat capabilities, the force’s coordinating deputy commander said on September 23.

Ahmad Akhavan said the force was upgrading its equipment and that combat units deployed across Iran were prepared to respond swiftly and effectively to any attack, Iran International reports.

He said the IRGC Ground Forces had developed detailed plans to confront the United States and Israel and would deliver a “crushing and decisive response” to any attack.

Akhavan added that combat units across Iran remained highly prepared, while upgrades to their weapons and combat capabilities were underway.
