Iran’s IRGC navy launches “Eghtedar” drill in Persian Gulf
The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) Navy on December 4 launched its “Eghtedar” military exercise in the Persian Gulf, an operation officials say is designed to demonstrate enhanced intelligence, situational awareness, and readiness across the strategic waterway.
Dedicated to the memory of Haj Mohammad Nazeri, the drill features a range of naval maneuvers intended to underscore the IRGC Navy’s preparedness and resilience amid regional tensions, Mehr reports.
Commanders said the exercise reflects Iran’s efforts to strengthen deterrence capabilities and improve the operational performance of its maritime forces.
IRGC officials emphasized that the drill highlights the defensive posture of Iran’s naval units and reflects ongoing efforts to enhance deterrence and operational capability in the Persian Gulf.
