Iran’s IRGC strikes US bases in Jordan in retaliation for Larak attack

Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) launched ballistic missile strikes against two US military bases in Jordan — King Hussein and Al Azraq — on August 30, framing the attacks as retaliation for a US strike on Iranian targets on Larak Island.

In response, Jordan’s Armed Forces reported that its air defence systems intercepted eight missiles after they entered the country’s airspace, with all of them destroyed before causing any threat to civilians or property. 

However, the Jordanian military did not identify the type of missiles involved or confirm that any had reached the US bases. No casualties or damage at the bases had been independently confirmed in initial reports.
