Iran's Khamenei denies US destroyed Iranian nuclear capabilities
Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei on October 20 dismissed US President Donald Trump's assertion that he had destroyed Iran’s nuclear industry.
“Fine, keep dreaming. But who do you think you are to make any prescriptions about whether a country can or cannot have a nuclear industry?” Ayatollah Khamenei said in direct response to Trump’s statement, Caliber.Az reports per Iranian media.
In his address, Khamenei strongly criticised the notion that any country, including the United States, has the authority to dictate Iran’s scientific or technological development.
The Iranian leader also rejected an offer of renewed talks from Trump.
"What does it have to do with America whether Iran has nuclear facilities or not? These interventions are inappropriate, wrong and coercive,” he added.
Earlier, Trump told the Israeli parliament that it would be great if Washington could negotiate a "peace deal" with Tehran.
