Iran’s military official calls for retaliatory operation against Israel
Lieutenant Commander of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) for Coordination Brigadier General Mohammad Reza Naqdi, has called for another military operation against Israel, referring to it as a potential follow-up to Operation Al-Aqsa Flood, the Hamas-led attack on Israel in October 2023.
Naqdi responded to questions regarding the timing of “True Promise-3,” a proposed Iranian military retaliation for the Israeli airstrike on Iranian territory on October 26, 2023, Caliber.Az reports per Iranian media.
"I am not worried about carrying out True Promise-3," he said, adding that the IRGC and the Basij militia are eager for a new operation, which he described as necessary to "finish off the Zionists."
He further stated that the operation, similar in scale to Hamas’ October 7 attack, was imminent.
The Iranian Foreign Ministry also stressed the need for decisive, collective and coordinated action against the terrorist groups in Syria.
Following the developments of the past recent days in Syria, the ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baqaei issued a warning about the renewed activity of Takfiri-terrorist groups, calling for decisive and coordinated measures to prevent the expansion of the scourge of terrorism in the region.
The Iranian spokesman strongly condemned all forms and manifestations of terrorism, describing the recent movements of terrorist groups in Syria as part of the sinister scheme orchestrated by the terrorist Zionist regime and the United States to destabilize the West Asia region.
He emphasized the necessity of vigilance and coordination among the regional countries, particularly Syria’s neighbors, to neutralize this dangerous conspiracy.
