Iran’s oil exports have almost completely halted, Central Bank Governor Abdolnaser Hemmati said.
However, he noted that Tehran has sufficient foreign currency reserves as a result of effective planning, Caliber.Az reports via Iranian media.
“I wrote a letter to the Supreme Leader [Mojtaba Khamenei], assuring him that there is no need to worry about supplies of essential goods and medicines. The Central Bank and the government are ensuring their availability,” Hemmati said.
The Central Bank chief added that there are currently no shortages in the Iranian market.
“This is the result of our planning, but we recognise the impact of sanctions and restrictions,” he added.
