Iran’s parliament speaker accuses US of pressuring Tehran into capitulation
Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf pointed out that the United States is using various forms of pressure to force Iran into capitulation.
“The enemy, according to its new plan, using maritime blockade, economic pressure and a media campaign, is seeking to destroy national unity in order to force us to surrender,” he said in an audio address to the nation.
Ghalibaf stated that Tehran still considers the risk of a military attack to be high. He added that part of Washington’s strategy, in his view, is aimed at weakening Iran from within.
“The enemy is heavily relying on economic pressure. It is clear that it has once again been given incorrect reports, and based on those reports, it has made a wrong decision. And this wrong decision will lead to difficulties for everyone,” the speaker added.
