Iran's Pezeshkian lands in New York for high-stakes UN address VIDEO

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has arrived in New York to attend the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly, amid heightened tensions between Tehran and Washington.

Pezeshkian is expected to address the General Assembly later this week, where he will outline Iran’s position and seek to ease tensions through diplomatic efforts.

The Iranian president’s visit comes against the backdrop of an ongoing military conflict between Iran and the United States, adding significance to his appearance at the UN.

Meanwhile, the United States has denied visas to journalists from Pezeshkian’s press pool, while sources say the Iranian president does not plan to hold a meeting with the US president during his visit.

An Iranian delegation arrived in New York alongside Pezeshkian. Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi is already in the city and is expected to hold a series of bilateral meetings with his counterparts from other countries.

Pezeshkian’s address to the General Assembly is scheduled for later this week.
