Iran’s president acknowledges price surge, urges strict response
Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian said he is aware of rising prices in the country, attributing part of the increase to fluctuations in raw material costs and problems caused by the war.
The remarks were made in a post on the social media platform X, as reported by Caliber.Az.

“I am aware of the rise in prices. Part of this is related to changes in raw material prices or problems caused by the brutal war, which the public is aware of, but speculation and hoarding are unacceptable,” Pezeshkian said.
He added that he had instructed the justice minister, in coordination with the judiciary, to take firm action against any practices that could disrupt public stability.
“I have asked the Minister of Justice, in coordination with the judiciary, to respond strictly to any actions that disturb public calm,” the statement said.
