Iran’s president declares military ready to defend nation
Iran’s armed forces are fully prepared to defend the country, President Masoud Pezeshkian said in a message marking National Army Day.
Pezeshkian highlighted existing threats in what he described as sensitive conditions and stressed the coordinated actions and readiness of the armed forces, calling the army’s role decisive, Caliber.Az reports, citing Fars news agency.
He also emphasised the military’s close ties with the people and its active involvement in providing assistance and serving society as key distinguishing features.
National Army Day in Iran is observed annually on April 18. The day was established in 1979 following the Islamic Revolution by Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini to demonstrate the army’s solidarity with the people.
