Iran's president links Hormuz transit to respect for sovereignty
23 March 2026 00:02
President of Iran Masoud Pezeshkian has clarified that passage through the Strait of Hormuz remains open to all nations, with the exception of those that violate Iran’s territorial sovereignty.
He emphasized that maritime access is contingent upon respect for Iran’s borders, Caliber.Az reports.
“The illusion of erasing Iran from the map shows desperation against the will of a history-making nation. Threats and terror only strengthen our unity. The Strait of Hormuz is open to all except those who violate our soil. We firmly confront delirious threats on the battlefield,” Pezeshkian wrote on his X account.
