Iran's speaker: No reopening of Strait of Hormuz while US violates truce

The Strait of Hormuz will not be reopened as long as the United States continues to violate the terms of the ceasefire, Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf warned.

“The opening of the Strait of Hormuz is impossible under such gross violations of the ceasefire regime. They [the United States] did not achieve their goals through military aggression and will not achieve them through intimidation. The only path is recognition of the rights of the Iranian people,” he wrote on his account on X.

Ghalibaf added that Iran would only consider a full ceasefire if the maritime blockade is lifted and if Israel “stops fueling war on all fronts.”
