Iran's supreme leader threatens to sink US aircraft carriers
Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei has issued a stark warning to the United States, threatening to sink American aircraft carriers in the region.
Speaking to residents of East Azerbaijan province, Khamenei combined condolences over domestic unrest with a renewed hardline stance on foreign military threats, underscoring Tehran’s uncompromising position amid ongoing Geneva talks with Washington, Irib News reports.
Khamenei—known for his strident anti-US rhetoric—renewed his warning against American military presence in the region, specifically targeting aircraft carriers.
“The US constantly claims that our army is the strongest in the world. The strongest army in the world could one day receive a strike it cannot recover from. They keep saying that we sent an aircraft carrier toward Iran. Well, an aircraft carrier is certainly a dangerous device, but even more dangerous is the weapon that can send that aircraft carrier to the bottom of the sea,” he stated.
