Iran’s supreme leader: US president’s signature means “nothing”
Iran’s Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei has stated that Washington’s alleged violation of a memorandum of understanding with Tehran has undermined the credibility of commitments made by US President Donald Trump, according to Iran’s Tasnim news agency.
“Recent actions by the United States that violate the terms of the memorandum signed by the leaders of Iran and the United States once again highlight how insignificant the signature of the US president is, and confirm that intimidation and aggression are part of American policy,” Khamenei said in an address.
He added that Iran and its allies opposing the United States and Israel had prepared an “important lesson” for Washington, warning that the US was seeking to provoke a conflict with Tehran and would face serious consequences as a result.
